We went to NB orphanage to visit since Bobby is affiliated with it and I have seen pictures throughout my time at NB in Tupelo. There are 10 children and 1 new girl. There are several caretakers and a school teacher. The children are precious. One of the things that sets this orphanage apart from the others is that they teach the Scripture there. There are scriptures and paintings on the wall. They have church services there on Saturday, which is the holy day in Nepal. There was a light that shown in the eyes of the children there, so sweet. From the stories that Bobby told of how the children arrived there, it brought tears to my eyes. A child that had been abandoned in a dumster and others heard her cry, a family of 4 whose mother burned in the house and the father was unable to raise them...each had an amazing story of why they were there. The awesome thing is to realize that each of these children are children of God, made in His image. And now they get to hear the Word! So thankful for NB and the work that they are doing in this small part of the world. While there the children sang 3 songs for us and it was beautiful. Finley stayed close to me, but did take candy and Fanta from Bobby.
Because of our trip today, Finley missed her afternoon nap. We returned to the hotel and she began to snack (it appears to be rather constant). She then when to a drawer and retrieved 2 shoes that did not match or fit. Still she brought them to me and wanted them on. She then found her pj's and started taking off her dress. Erin helped her get dressed over the shoes. She then began to whine and brought me my shoes. I thought she wanted to go outside, so I put my shoes on and started to walk to the door. She wasn't happy that I didn't pick up the backpack, as she was carrying her doll and water sippy. Instead of going to the door, she went into the bathroom and stood in front of the toilet. I put her on and she did nothing, but did grunt (I have no idea where she learned that, but it was really funny!). She then waddled to the bed with her pants around her knees and waited for me to lay her on the bed and put on her diaper, making sure I didn't forget the powder. She then climbed into my lap, cried a bit (maybe she thinks she is supposed to??) and then fell asleep. It was only 6:00. How sweet is that? Still working on the spitting in the floor and throwing things just to see if they bounce...hmm, another day. God really has prepared her heart, hasn't He? Love it. Hope she sleeps till morning. BTW, had to wait till she was asleep to get the shoes off. That's my girl!!
