Well, it's official. It has been an amazing morning. We went to the orphanage. They dressed Finley, and we allowed her to warm up to me. Then we walked across the street and signed the release from the orphanage. Finley knew something was up and cried big. She fell asleep in my arms and then we got in the van to drive to the ministry of women's and children's where the adoption decree was signed and then to the foreign affairs where the decree was officially notorized! Along the way, Finley awoke and just sat with me quietly. We then arrived at the hotel where I placed her on the bed and she began trying to diaper a baby I had out for her. We ordered in for lunch and I ordered some rice with curry and vegetables and french fries for us. She didn't eat much, but knew what the rice was. She pointed to the yogurt that came with it and held out her plate. She did eat the ketchup, using the french fry as a dipstick. I am amazed at her. She began crying and was obviously upset that she was not leaving. I just held her until she fell asleep. She is napping now. Do you know that from the beginning I have prayed that God would prepare her heart for this moment? I fully believe that He did. I could not ask for a smoother transition from the orphanage. Thank you Lord for all your goodness. I do know to expect a couple of rough days, but for today I am thankful beyond words.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7.
Today I am a mother. I never doubted. God is so good to grant me His child to oversee.
